Figuring out the obvious can happen quickly. Mastering the obvious takes much more time. In sports, there are a few keys to good form. Star athletes don’t just learn them, they master them. The baseball player hits the same ball over and over. The golfer practices the same swing over and over. A basketball player shoots the same shot over and over. Every time they do, they drive the perfect movements deeper and deeper into their minds.

การเห็นว่าอะไรคือความสำเร็จนั้นเกิดขึ้นได้เร็วมาก แต่การจะเชี่ยวชาญในสิ่งที่สำเร็จนั้นต้องใช้เวลา การเป็นนักกีฬาที่เก่งฉกาจมีสิ่งสำคัญที่ต้องทำไม่กี่อย่าง นักกีฬาระดับดาวเด่นไม่ใช่แค่เพียงเรียนรู้การเล่นกีฬา แต่พวกเขาเชี่ยวชาญกีฬานั้นเลยล่ะ นักเบสบอลตีลูกบอลลูกเดิมซ้ำแล้วซ้ำอีก นักกอล์ฟหวดวงสวิงเดิมครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่า นักบาสเก็ตบอลชู๊ตลูกเดิมชู๊ตแล้วชู๊ตอีก ทุกครั้งที่พวกเขาทำแบบนั้น พวกเขากำลังตอกย้ำลักษณะท่าทางการเคลื่อนไหวนั้นๆ ให้ตรึงแน่นฝังลึกลงไปในจิตใจของพวกเขา

We shouldn’t expect to master anything, even the simply keys to success, by hearing them once. We must constantly pound them deeper and deeper into our minds. We do this through hearing them over and over. I often read a good book several times. Each time, I better understand what the authors say. I am pounding the thoughts deeper and deeper into my mind. I read many different books on the same topic. I get different perspectives on the same topic. I am pounding the thoughts deeper and deeper into my brined.

พวกเราไม่ควรคาดหวังว่าจะประสบความสำเร็จใดๆเลย  แม้ในเรื่องง่ายๆก็ตาม ด้วยการได้ยินได้ฟังสิ่งเหล่านั้นเพียงแค่ครั้งเดียว พวกเราต้องกระหน่ำมันอย่างสุดแรงเกิด ให้พวกมันฝังลึกลงไปในจิตใจของเรา  พวกเราทำแบบนี้ด้วยการได้ยินได้ฟังซ้ำแล้วซ้ำอีก บ่อยครั้งที่ผมอ่านหนังสือดีๆเล่มหนึ่งหลายๆรอบ แต่ละรอบที่อ่าน ผมเข้าใจสิ่งที่ผู้เขียนต้องการสื่อได้ดีขึ้นเรื่อยๆ ผมกำลังกระหน่ำความคิดเหล่านั้นให้ฝังลึกลงไปในจิตใจ ผมอ่านหนังสือที่แตกต่างกันมากมายในเรื่องเดียวกันนี้  ผมได้มุมมองที่แตกต่างกันในเรื่องเดียวกันนี้เช่นกัน ผมกำลังตอกย้ำความคิดเหล่านั้นให้ฝังลึกลงไปในจิตใจของผม

Through repetition, we master something. We can never stop this process. We must be like the athletes who keep practicing the basics over and over. If they don’t, they fall into bad habits. If we don’t constantly keep feeding our minds the basic keys to success, we eventually start to forget them. The doors that had once been wide open to us begin slamming shut again.

พวกเราเชี่ยวชาญในเรื่องบางอย่างจากการทำของเดิมซ้ำๆ เราไม่สามารถหยุดกระบวนการนี้ได้เลย เราต้องทำตัวเหมือนกับนักกีฬาที่ฝึกพื้นฐานการเล่นกีฬาซ้ำแล้วซ้ำอีก ถ้าเกิดพวกเขาไม่ทำแบบนั้นพวกเขาจะเสียนิสัย เช่นกันถ้าพวกเราไม่ตอกย้ำจิตใจของพวกเราด้วยพื้นฐานของความสำเร็จ ในไม่ช้าเราก็จะเริ่มลืมนึกถึงความสำเร็จ ประตูแห่งความสำเร็จที่ครั้งหนึ่งเคยเปิดกว้างให้กับพวกเรา ก็จะปิดลงอีกครั้ง
